NICU
Dr Ieetkar's NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT is one of the largest NICU in Thane District.
- Spacious 16 bedded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Nihon Koden Multipara monitors with central monitoring system
- Point of care functional echo-cardiography and ultrasonography - facilitate timely and life saving decisions ate bedtime.
- We are first to introduce Cerebral function monitor (Amplitude integrated EEG) for management and progonstication in cases of asphyxia in this region.
- All advance medical equipments include Warmers, High End Ventilators, High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilators, Capnography, LED Phototherapy.
- Our NICU has set a benchmark in surviving extreme preterm babies.
Youngest NICU graduate is 26 weeks
Smallest NICU graduate is 730 grams - Overall survival rate in last year was 94% even after treating all complex and referred babies.
Making Breathing Easier
- Ventilators with PVRC mode for convectional Ventilation
- High frequency oscillatory ventilation for those difficult respiratory cases.
- Non invasive ventilation with bubble CPAP
- Central oxygen and compressed air system to facilitate care.

Prevention of Infection
Infection control is a primary thing to improve survival of new borns.
- Strict emphasis on hand washing followed by chemical disinfectant to prevent infection
- Appropriate patient to nurse ratio to prevent infection.
- * Apart from autoclaving, ETO sterilizers
- to make equipments sterile
- * Laminar flow system for preparation of
- injectibles and total parentral nutrition.
For Intact Survival
- Structured NICU follow up protocol.
- Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)
- Screening by Retina Specialist.
- Laser therapy available for required cases.
- *Screening every baby with otoacoustic emission & BERA.
- Physiotherapy for early intervention for required babies
Paediatric Surgery Unit
- * A senior paediatric surgeon Dr. Abhay Kulkarni will provide timely surgical intervention for neonatal and paediatric surgical cases.
- Well equipped operation theatre suitable for neonatal and paediatric surgery.
